Anna is a Graduate Aviation Analyst working in Arup's Aviation team in our Warsaw office.
What did you study and where?
I did my bachelor and master’s degrees in aerospace engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology in Poland. During my studies, I took part in a one-year exchange programme studying Aerospace Engineering in Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain.
Why did you choose the Arup graduate programme?
At the end of my master studies, I was searching for an inspiring and challenging first job. And there it was – an advertisement that Arup is looking for a junior Aviation Analyst. Arup’s message and mission statement to shape a better world spoke to me straight away.
I joined a very dynamic, diverse team, where I can develop my skills and learn from people with various experience at all levels. I’m glad I took this opportunity.

What do you get up to in your day-to-day role?
I am an Analyst in the Aviation team. To cut long story short – we plan airports. I already had the opportunity to work on exciting projects – planning airport terminals, working on traffic forecasting and simulating airside airport traffic. I’m looking forward for more challenges.
What has been your most enjoyable moment / project so far?
Two projects deserve to be highlighted here in particular. First and most recent one is simulating the taxiway flows for a future dual runway configuration at the Dublin airport.
Second, working with the historical data for passenger movements at the airports. Analysing the seasonality – which are the busiest times at the airport to evaluate whether they are big enough and have all the necessary facilities.
What are your future aspirations?
I would love to further walk the analyst path. I want to get involved in more and more complex projects and have more responsibility over time.
