Sustainable buildings are a passion of mine. One of the highlights of my career has been acting as the lead sustainable system design engineer for CIC ZCB, the first zero carbon building in Hong Kong. I have been involved in projects that have become exemplars of green building design in their regions and have accelerated the development of green building in the past decade.
“The firm’s environment allows different people to work together in harmony, regardless of gender, culture or religion. ”
The working environment here allows different people, from different backgrounds, to work together in harmony, regardless of gender, culture or religion. Everyone gets the same opportunities, which means we all benefit from each other’s different viewpoints. I think that’s what leads to really innovative work and better engineering.
Thanks to Arup I’ve had the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that have really helped me to develop. And I have always felt supported. When I was a junior engineer, the more experienced engineers were always willing to share their practical experiences and expertise with us. Arup’s global technical sharing network provides a platform for us to consult with experts all over the world. There are always opportunities for technical and management training in-house, and regular sharing sessions where we can all strengthen our skills.
