Victor is from St. Paul, MN and went to the University of Michigan. He is currently an Acoustics Consultant out of the San Fransisco office.
2021 Joined Arup
After interning with Arup, what helped you make the decision to join full time?
The internship was my first real experience with acoustics, and I was immediately attracted to how the team here at Arup blended technical knowledge with creative expertise. Watching the team exercise their own diverse background of knowledge really allowed me to understand how my own skills could fit into project work.
What does your day as an acoustics consultant look like?
One of the things I love about being an acoustic consultant is the variation in our day to day. Some days I will be creating auralizations in the sound lab for hours, some days will be mainly data analysis or report writing at the office, and many days will include site work or on-site measurements in places I never thought I’d be. There is no standard day, and that’s what makes the job great!

Do you have a favorite Arup memory? A project site visit, office event, etc.?
My favorite Arup memory is the SF vs LA annual soccer game. It was such a great way to meet our West Coast coworkers, and it felt great to help SF bring home a much-anticipated win!
How do you reduce your carbon footprint?
San Francisco is a very walkable city with quite a robust public transportation system. Driving less and biking more is how I try to do my part.
What are your future aspirations and goals for your career?
My current career goals include continuing to grow my technical knowledge, and building relationships with local clients who are involved in projects that align both with my interests and Arup’s mission.
