The joint venture between Arup and Gerens Management Group was selected by CELLS (public consortium between central and regional government) to carry out the project management of Alba Synchrotron Light Laboratory.
The synchrotron is an electron accelerator which produces x-rays with multiple fields of application such as chemistry, materials science, magnetism, industry and macromolecular crystallography. It is ring-shaped and uses a series of magnets to generate synchrotron light beams.
Arup, in conjunction with Gerens, assisted the client during all the project phases, including the technical project review, design management, financial estimates, planning, procurement strategy, tender process and construction management.
